Near fine in a quite worn dustjacket - brown cloth is bright with minimal rubbing to the gilt lettering, sharp straight corners, orange topstain. Book has previous owner's name on front endpaper, and the price clipped dustjacket is rubbed and worn along the front fold for the flap and the edges of the spine, has a short tear and creasing at the bottom edge of the front cover, and the loss of about 1/2 cm of paper at top of the spine, about 1/4 cm at the bottom. . First printing. FIrst issue with the error on page 59. Wolfe's third book and only collection of short stories.

Synopsis

Wolfe's third published book, and his first of short stories, this collection contains his popular "Only the Dead Know Brooklyn," written in a Brooklyn dialect.
