Dark blue cloth over boards with gilt lettering on black panels on the spine and the front boards. The original text was established by G. Alberigo, J. A. Dossetti. P.-P. Joannou, C. Leonardi and P. Prodi in consultation with H. Jedin. The documents from the various councils (Nicaea I to Vatican II) are presented with the original language on the verso of each page and the English translation on the facing recto of the following page. (The original texts are taken from G. Albergio edition and others of the decrees "Conciliorum Oecumenicorum Decreta".) The back of Volume II has a 33 page chronological index, a 16 page index of the bible, a 6 page index of the councils, a 9 page index of the Roman Magisterium, an 8 page index of the fathers and the early church, a 1 page index of liturgical books, a 6 page index of canon law, a 10 page index of proper names, an 8 page index of authors, and lastly a 104 page index of subjects. Both volumes show only very minor shelf wear to both book and jacket. However, a big however here, volume II has highlighting in yellow and some sparse ink marginalia on ~ 50 pages or so. It has all been done quite neatly but it is there none the less. Otherwise both volumes could be described as near fine to fine. .
