Description

London: Hodder & Stoughton. Good+ in Very Good- dust jacket. 1984. First Edition. Hardcover. 0340285397 . This is a 'Doctored' Ex-Library copy which the former owner has worked on to try to remove all signs of this being a former library book. He has done it pretty well and from the outside there are No signs of it being Ex-Lib. In the original black boards with bright gilt titling to the spine, and in the original publisher's pictorial dustjacket. Neither of which have any library markings and the old library cover has preserved the d/j in a G+/VG state. Internally on the front free endpaper there are two large areas marked where library labels have been removed. Otherwise NO other library signs anywhere in the book that I can see. The page edges are grubby, and there are is some staining to the rear free endpaper. Overall, despite its former status as a Ex-Lib copy, as noted above, this is an Excellent Clean, Tight and Bright Near 'Good plus' copy. 304pp. Illustrated with one b/w map. " The daring raid on the dock of St Nazaire in March 1942 was among the most adventurous and successful of the Second World War, and it is on this episode that Alan Evans has fashioned his first venture away from his Commander Smith novels. The result is a first-class novel of suspense, as Jack Ward and the commandos meet with adventure upon adventure." ; Ex-Library; 8vo 8" - 9" .
