The book and jacket are in very good condition, the jacket has a fair amount of shelf rubbing, most noticeably along bottom and top of jacket, jacket has since been wrapped for preservation purposes. Book also has shelf rubbing in these same areas with small indent to bottom fore-edge corner likely from being dropped. Outside fore-edge and Interior has some foxing but the text and beautiful illustrations [by Pauline Baynes] appear clean and clear throughout. 'A dictionary of all things pertaining to chivalry in the European Medieval Period--arms, armor, heraldry, castles, customs, and the like. Illustrated by the great Pauline Baynes, best known for her work on The Chronicles of Narnia and The Tolkien Reader. Her spare, mock-medieval pen-and-ink drawings have a sly charm that is impossible to describe.' 352 pages. 9.5 x 6.25 inches. May require additional postage.
