(New York: Workers Library, 1934. Softcover. Very Good. First American edition. Translated from the original edition of the International Committee for the Liberation of Thaelmann and All Imprisoned Anti-Fascists, Paris, France. 12mo. 23pp. Stapled self-wrappers. Wraps lightly soiled with a few tiny tears at the edges, very good. Barbusse, a member of the French Communist Party, calls for the release of Ernst Thälmann, leader of the Communist Party of Germany, who was arrested by the Gestapo in 1933 for political reasons. Thälmann was held in solitary confinement for eleven years before being shot and killed in Buchenwald in 1944.
