About This Item
The Bodley Head London, 1926 First Edition with the marvellous John Austen illustrations. The scarce dust jacket is protected and it is the best one I've seen. It is famously difficult to find in collectible condition. Original white buckram, with a couple of bruised corners; top edge gilt, untrimmed leading edge. There is some foxing, as with all copies I have seen. GORGEOUS and brilliantly done illustrations. The 17 plates are wonderfully Art Deco. In addition there are prolific illustrations integrated with the text. A superb collectable, in the best jacket I've ever seen - which is rare.. 1st Edition.. Hardcover. Very Good/Near Fine.
