About This Item

The Downing Street Years:

First edition, first impression (HarperCollins, 1993). Signed and inscribed by the author to the title page: 'To Basil, Thank you for your unfailing support over many years. Margaret Thatcher'. Basil Feldman, Baron Feldman (1923-2019) was a Conservative member of the House of Lords from 1996-2017. He was knighted in 1982. Publisher's original dark blue cloth and endpapers and paste-downs with lettering to spine in gilt. A little light marking to boards, primarily to rear; small split to foot of hinge of lower board. The original and unclipped dust jacket has some moderate edge wear, mainly to the top.

The Path to Power:

First edition, first impression (HarperCollins, 1995) Signed and inscribed by the author to half-title in the year of publication: 'To Basil and Gita with warmest regards and grateful thanks for your unfailing support Margaret Thatcher 31 July 1995'. Publisher's original black cloth with gilt lettering to spine and dark blue endpapers and paste-downs. A fine book with just a touch of rubbing here and there in the original and unclipped dust jacket with mild creasing to top edge and a small closed tear to spine head.

A very good set indeed bearing rare and personal presentation inscriptions from the first British female prime minister.
