[4],299 pp, [1 blank],32 (Publisher's catalogue). 8 plates including frontispiece with tissue-guard, plus vignette to title page, by Emile Bayard. Book Condition: Very Good. Publisher's maroon cloth with gilt titles to spine and black-blue-and-white stamped blossom motifs to spine and upper board; blindstamped publisher's monogram to lower board. Floral endpapers. Cover cloth a little edge rubbed with very minor wear to corners. Stamp of W H Smith Library to ffep; small loss (approx 2 1/2 inches x 1/2 an inch) to upper margin of frontispiece, illustration unaffected. First edition in English, translated by Mrs Cashel Hoey. Scarce.
