A limited edition of two hundred and sixty copies, of which two hundred and fifty were for sale. This copy is numbered one hundred and thirty five.A poetical anthology of the works of Robert Browning, including his 1845 collection 'Dramatic Romances and Lyrics', and his 1864 'Dramatis Personae'.Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, and nine colour plates, by Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale. Browning was a leading English poet of the Victorian era, 'Dramatis Personae' being one of his best known works, the first poetry collection he published after the death of his wife, Elizabeth Barrett Browning. His 'Dramatic Romances' was the seventh volume in his series 'Bells and Pomegranates'.Collated, complete. In the publisher's original vellum binding. Externally, vellum is discoloured and rubbed. Minor bumping to the extremities. Some light marks to the boards and spine. Front hinge is starting but firm. Rear endpaper has been removed. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with scattered spots. Frontispiece is detached but present. Good
