Orange cloth covered hardcover boards with black lettering to spine. Age toning throughout with deep age toning to front and back FE. Text is clean and binding tight. Minor foxing.
DJ has original price of $3.50 intact. Major age toning to DJ, general edgewear and flap folds. Several open tears t top and bottom of spine or DJ and upper left front cover.
This ws harold Robbins' second novel, after 'Never Love a Stranger'. Published in 1948.
This edition was published in 1949 and as stated "first and second printings before publication" is not a true first edition.
'The Dream Merchants' is a novel of the American film industry, from its beginning to the sound era, in which Robbins blends his own life experiences with history, melodrama, sex, and glossy high society into an enthralling fast moving narrative. This work was made into a 1980s TV miniseries.
