Due to war-time paper shortages, the entire book is printed on bright yellow stock. --- In beige cloth-covered boards with illustrations and titling in brown to cover and spine; brown topstain. Jacket in tones of dark brown and tan, with author photographic portrait to back panel. --- With some darkening & discoloration to cloth, otherwise a clean, firmly-bound copy. Unclipped jacket with chipping and small tears but mostly intact and in removable archival mylar protector.; Octavo (8 to 9 in. tall); xiii, 559 pages .
