New York: Random House, 1970. FIRST EDITION with dust jacket. Full black cloth with gilt lettering one the spine and gilt stamped design of two flags (british and israel) on the front cover. Spine lightly bumped with bottom edge shelf dusted. Jacket is in good plus condition with severall small closed tears at edges. The top of the spine has an inch closed tear with the edge slightly rolled. Now protected in brodart. Still a very presentable book and a good gift. Photos available upon request. Colonel Richard Henry Meinertzhagen (March 3, 1878 - June 17, 1967) CBE DSO was a British soldier, intelligence officer, ornithologist and expert on Bird lice. He was influential in life and had a legendary reputation for his exploits around the world. Studies on his work on birds and historic notes after his death however raised serious questions on his integrity and have made him a controversial character. . First Edition. Full Cloth.
