From the publisher

A super simple look at some of the sounds we hear with our ears--water dropping, popcorn popping, flutes tooting. . . . Makes a perfect read-aloud, with lots of sound effects and a variety of ears for hearing them.

Bright and Early Books are perfect for beginning beginner readers! Launched by Dr. Seuss in 1968 with The Foot Book, Bright and Early Books use fewer and easier words than Beginner Books. Readers just starting to recognize words and sound out letters will love these short books with colorful illustrations.

First line

They hear a clock.

From the rear cover

'...revolutionize the approach to reading for young readers. These delightful books...stir the imagination and create a taste for more and more reading materials.' -Dr. Margaret B. Parke, Professor, Brooklyn College

Media reviews

"Illustrations are big and simple; the text is in verse form."—School Library Journal.
