About This Item
Boston: Roberts Brothers, 1868. This is a Very Good copy of the First American Edition, the Author's Edition "from the Third London Edition." One volume in a green cloth binding, beveled, with gilt lettering and decoration on the spine. Covering March to August in Morris's epic poem. Clean text; 430 pages, with 14 pages of publisher's adverts in the rear, one of which announces that the second volume is "in preparation." Top edge is gilt. Mildly bumped and cocked a bit. Typical rubbing to head and foot of spine. Scattered bubbling (not severe). Evidence of moisture to the top of the binding, resulting in some faint flood marking within. While this is a sound copy, it is not the most beautiful, and perhaps not a wise choice for the advanced collector. . First American Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
