Arnold was a botanist, who took part in an expedition to explore thoroughly in the interests of horticulture and forestry the whole of Kansu-Tibet border from South to North. Very good plus in original blue cloth with gilt text on cover and spine; Vol. 2 very slightly cocked, but binding tight. Context bright and unmarred with occasional light foxing. Volume 1: 33 b/w. photos, 311pp., folding map. Volume 2: 29 b/w. photos, 328 pp., itinerary appendix, botanical index & general index. A wonderful copy of this important work.
