(RUSCHA, EDWARD). Kerouac, Jack & Edward Ruscha. Bob Monk, Coordinating Editor. ED RUSCHA: ON THE ROAD: AN ARTIST BOOK OF THE CLASSIC NOVEL BY JACK KEROUAC - LIMITED SIGNED SLIPCASED EDITION. Signed and Numbered by the Artist. New York & Gottingen, GERMANY: Gagosian - Steidl, 2009. First Edition 1/350 Deluxe. Oblong Folio. Full Leather in Slipcase. Illustrated Book. Fine/No Jacket - As Issued. 228pp, 55 b&w photographic illustrations. Text in English. Designed by Ed Ruscha. Ed Ruscha's personal affinity with Jack Kerouac's seminal novel "On the Road" has been wonderfully resolved in this sumptuous limited edition volume. Ruscha has designed the book - illustrating Kerouac's classic of Beat literature with his own photographs. The text is printed by letterpress on 220 gram Hahnemühle paper with each of the fifty-five photographic plates die-cut, blind-embossed, and tipped in by hand to create an exquisite and original edition of "On the Road". The book is bound in sensual full grey leather with the title silkscreened using Kerouac's handwriting on the front cover and spine. It is housed in a matching grey leather slipcase accompanied by the publisher's pair of protective white gloves, as issued. A brand new, most handsome example of the first and only printing of this lavish reworking of Kerouac's magnum opus limited to three hundred and fifty copies NUMBERED (260/350), SIGNED AND DATED "Ed Ruscha 2009" in pencil on the rear colophon, as issued in its somewhat worn and reinforced printed outer shipping carton. It is additionally accompanied by a copy of the publisher's thirty-two page hors commerce prospectus that photographically documents the collaboration between Ed Ruscha and Gerhard Steidl to bring this magnum opus to fruition. 3-86521-947-0 Inventory Number: 022706

Description:
Larkspur: Jan Kerouac Benefit Fund. 1995. An attractive poster, designed and printed by noted poster artist Alton Kelley -- who designed many of the famous psychedelic posters of the 1960s in San Francisco. This poster was prepared to promote a series of benefits for Kerouac's daughter Jan, who, besides being quite ill and without health care benefits, was contesting the disposition of Kerouac's literary estate. A series of fundraising events were organized in San Francisco, which included appearances and performances by a number of people who had been closely connected to Kerouac and the poets and artists of the Beat generation and later the Sixties counterculture. Of a total edition of 1135, this is one of 1000 unsigned copies. Approximately 18" x 26". Rolled, else fine. No Binding. Near Fine.

666: "The Hymn" to "Lucifer". San Francisco: Hells Angels M.C., 1968 Description
12 colour-printed (262 x 202 mm) single sheets, loose as issued in the original colour-printed glossy card .
Text in an approximation of the Hell's Angels Fat Frank #1 "font", psychedelic and astrological decorations, author portrait by Bay Area photographer Larry Keenan Jr. in reddish-orange on the rear panel of the chemise.
A few cover spots....see photo, but overall very good.
Notes
First edition, uncommon. Fascinating document of the San Francisco underground scene. A sequence of amphetamine-fuelled metaphysical explorations combining the Satanic, astrological, and psychedelic in equal measure, with just a dash of biker lore. Reynolds was secretary of the notorious SF chapter of the Hell's Angels, and the previous year had seen the publication of his autobiography "as told to" poet Michael McLure, with whom he had been performing musical settings of McClure's poems - Frank on… Read More

Description:
Here is the rare, first edition hardcover of "Earth House Hold," signed by Gary Snyder. Only 2500 copies published in 1969 by New Directions (Item A 22 in the Gary Snyder Bibliography by Katherine McNeil). No dust jacket.
Signed on the title page by Snyder directly beneath and partially over his printed name, in his calligraphy script style.
Although one of Snyder's better-known books, signed copies are rare, especially in hardcover.
Condition is VG to VG- with some foxing and soiling, and light fraying to front corners of spine tips. Very mild bow to front board, shows only if you hold the book flat in your hand like a platter and hold it up to the light. (Most sellers wouldn't even mention it.)
All in all, a solid signed copy of this important title in the Snyder canon.
