About This Item

Edmund Ward, 1954. 1st Edition. Hardcover. VG++/G++. DALBY, Reginald C.. 1st Edition, 1st Impression. 14.5 x 10.8cm. Original pale blue cloth boards with gilt stamped vignette and titles to the front, 62(1)pp plus (1) publisher's list of railway series books, of which this is the last listed, and includes 30 full page colour illustrations by Reginald C. Dalby. Together with original dust jacket clipped at the front but unclipped at the rear and having a 4/6 price. The back panel lists 9 books from the 'Truth in a Tale' series. The boards are very good plus with just a hint of fading to the spine slightly, more so at the tips. Internally, there is an ownership name on the front free endpaper but otherwise the pages are clean and bright. The dust jacket, which is now protected in a clear removable cover (not shown in our images), is dust stained and has a toned mark on the rear panel and has some loss to the spine tips and corners. There is a little chipping and toning along the top edge and three tears of 1-2 cm along the top edge of the back panel that have associated creasing, and one of 1cm on the bottom edge of the front panel. All in all a very nice 1st Edition 1st Impression of the 9th book in the Railway Series, in a reasonable jacket. Rainford & Parris Books welcomes enquiries, so please do not hesitate to ask if you require further images or have any questions. All books are packaged with great care.
