Volume 1 only of what was meant to be a 3 volume series. Green cloth in grey lettered dust jacket. Some fading and a small closed tear to jacket spine. Some rubbing and edgewear to the boards. Uncommon work. From the jacket "It presents an analysis of the literature on the etiology and treatment of alcohol addiction, and the mental and bodily diseases of chronic alcoholism. Much of hte material is synthesized in tabular form, and there is an exhaustive bibliography. The purpose of the volume is to clarify the problems reviewed, as a basis for future research, and to serve as a reference work." Chapter headings are as follows: "Alcohol Addiction and its Treatment", "Alcoholic Mental Disorders", "Vitamin Deficiencies in Chronic Alcoholism", "Alcoholic Encephalopathies and Nutrition", "Marchiafava's Disease", "Cirrhosis of the Liver". Jellinek, nick named Bunky, was extremely influencial in the field of addiction studies in the modern era.
