Description

THIS IS A VERY RARE BOOK With ALL 6 of the color lithographs. Quarter-leather and marbled boards, gilded page edges See photos for details of condition. The photos are part of the description of this book, so review them carefully. Baker, who is most famous for his exploration in search of the Nile, lived for years and traveled extensively in Ceylon and describes the natural history, villages, peoples, agriculture, etc. The plates are mainly of hunting scenes and wildlife, from the author's paintings. The later editions did not have color plates.
