From the Foreword, " Many books have been written about the Battle of Britain and most have failed to appeal to the general public, being too long or too technical. Other books have been too scrappy to paint a clear picture. Barry Winchester avoids these mistakes and, by his new approach to the subject - i.e. a mixture of verse and prose, has written a most readable and entertaining book." Appendices: 1. The Battle of Britain - Facsimile of the Ministry of Information Booklet issued on behalf of the Air Ministry and distributed nationwide in 1941. 2. Facsimile Anti-Invasion leaflets issued nationwide. Small red ink mark at bottom edge of first appendices page (from manufacturing process), light edge wear, light bump to bottom of spine and hinges - very light wrinkle at bottom of pages at gutter. Dust jacket has light to moderate edge wear (small areas of surface paper loss at top of spine), light edge wrinkling. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good -.
