About the author

Toni Morrison (1931 - 2019) naci en Lorain, Ohio. Alterna su trabajo de profesora de Humanidades en la Universidad de Princeton con la actividad literaria. En sus novelas se plantea la problemtica de la poblacin negra en Estados Unidos, sobre todo la situacin de las mujeres. Es autora de Ojos azules (1970), Sula (1973), La cancin de Salomn (1977, premiada con el National Book Critics Circle Award en 1978), La isla de los caballeros (1981), Beloved (1987, que obtuvo el Premio Pulitzer en 1988), Jazz (1992), Paraso (1997), Amor (2003), Una bendicin (2008) y Volver (2012). En 1993 obtuvo el Premio Nobel de Literatura. La noche de los nios es su novela ms reciente y uno de los lanzamientos ms esperados del 2016.
