The deluxe limited editions of The Elite: The Story of the Rhodesian Special Air Service and The Elite: Pictorial, both signed by the author, Barbara Cole. Both with presentation signatures from American professional solider, Robert C. MacKenzie.. Octavo, [two volumes], [8], 449pp; [8], 168pp. Blue leather, titles in gilt on spine, Rhodesian Special Air Service (SAS) emblem on the front cover. All edges gilt, blue endpapers. Both volumes with hundreds of illustrations and color photographs. Each in near fine cardboard slipcases. Matching limitation numbers in both volumes (441), with the signature of the author on the limitation page. A fine example of both works. The Rhodesian Special Air Service was formed in 1959 and served until the transition to Black majority rule in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) in 1979. This work by Barbara Cole highlights their efforts to slow the progress of the Zimbabwe African National Liberation Army (ZANLA) during the Rhodesian Bush War (also called the Zimbabwe War of Independence).
