Eighth Printing of the first edition, July 1927. Condition: Good / No dustjacket. Blue cloth with orange type and reverse block. Text is clean and unmarked. Bookstore sticker on front endpaper. Hinge loose but boards are in good shape and all pages are firmly attached. Moderate wear and page-darkening. A satiric indictment of fundamentalist religion that caused an uproar upon its publication in 1927, and the basis for the Academy Award-nominated 1960 film with Burt Lancaster, Jean Simmons and Shirley Jones. Lancaster and Jones both won Oscars. Carefully packaged and shipped in a box.
