A survey of England with notes both descriptive and historical, exploring the country from Liverpool through the Welsh Coast, the Scottish border, the Midlands, River Thames and London, &c. Complete in two volumes, first US edition following the UK edition of 1882. Illustrated with forty nine photogravure made by Gilbo & Co. as well as a folding colour map to the rear vol. II. Collated, lacking frontispiece to vol. I.  In the original publisher's uniform full cloth binding, with armorial gilt tooling to front board, titles in gilt to spine. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, spine and boards bumped to extremities, light fading to spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. With forty-nine full page plates of photogravures protected with tissue guard and a folding map to rear vol. II. Collated, lacking frontispiece vol. I. Very Good Indeed
