"The Warren Collection of English Delftware, built up by Mr and Mrs Robert Hall Warren between the years 1920 and 1939, was in 1963 presented to the Ashmolean Museum, together with Mr Warren's own fully documented catalogue and notes. ... Mr. Ray has added an Introduction describing briefly the manufacture of delftware, including the practical and economic aspects, and the histories of the factories, in which some important new material on the Bristol potteries is published for the first time. The illustrations include photographs from every significant angle of pieces which have to be seen in the round." (dj).
