Illustrated throughout, with sixty-one plates of photographs highlighting the various pieces discussed in the text. With a glossary of terms to the rear. An early edition of this work, which was first published in 1904. This work follows the history of English furniture from the reign of William and Mary to the early nineteenth century. Designers and style include Chippendale, Matthias Darly, Hepplewhite, Sheraton and more. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor bumping to the head and tail of spine and extremities. Light shelfwear to the joints. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Scattered spotting to pages, heavier to the first and last few pages. Very Good
