The second edition. First published in 1905, Illustrated by A. Heaton Cooper with full page map a colour frontispiece and seventy-four colour plates. Collated complete. This work on English lakes was written by W. T. Palmer and features the beautiful artwork by A. Heaton Cooper, a water colour painter, best known for his paintings of the English Lake District and Norway.In the original publisher's decorative cloth. Lacking dust wrapper. Publisher's advertisements to the rear. In the publisher's original cloth. Lacking dust wrapper. Externally very smart with marks to the boards and spine, slight cockling to the rear, bumping to the extremities, small closed tears to the head of the spine and fading to the spine. Bookplate belonging to a 'H. Frankel Hampstead' to the front free endpaper with slight age toning, very minor adhesive residue to the rear and the odd minor spot. Internally firmly bound with lightly age toned and generally clean pages with the odd minor spot only. Very Good
