Noticeable age-spotting on front of jacket. Several scores on rear of jacket. Jackets spine is very tanned and quite scratched. Jacket spine ends and leading corners are rather worn. Upper and leading edges of front board are a little faded. One or two small dents on leading edge of front board. Several small scorings on rear board. Dust Jacket in Brodart - minor foxing and sunning, with a chip to the head, but still very good for age. A clean, tight copy. Rowse was an outspoken and popular expert on Elizabethan England, a poet and a biographer. Here, he sought to see important literary figures 'through the places where they lived or which their lives touched, and the places through them and their eyes'. (Preface).
