Harper & Brothers Publishers, 1853. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1853. Tenth Edition. 535 pages. Brown leather covered boards. Pages are moderately tanned and foxed throughout, heavier at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Previous owner's inscription to title page and preface. Title page has a chunk missing at the top. binding remains reasonably firm. binding is shaky. Hinges are cracked with exposed netting. Boards have heavy edge-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Front board is almost detached. Moderate crushing to spine ends, with splitting, fraying and loss to the head, tail and joints. Leather elements are heavily peeling with loss.
