"Not only one of the greatest architects of the 20th century, Eric Mendelsohn was also one of the most progressive in spirit who made a major contribution to the development of the new architecture. This work is the most exhaustive and authoritative biography of Mendelsohn that has yet been published. The author traces the development of his work in Germany from 1919 to 1933. Then his work in Palestine is described, where he became the architect of a variety of buildings, including important hospitals, and lastly, his life and work in America where he enjoyed a new period of achievement with a series of religious buildings."
