X-medical library with bookplate on endpaper and stamp on title page, no marks on outside spine, interior pages bright and clean with no marks or writings, binding sound. Front board with hinge cracked about 3" along upper spine, corners well rubbed, some wear to upper spine and wear to front board along outside edge about 2.5", some fading to spine. Smoke free and shipped in box. 439 pp w/ index. First page is "Preface to the American Edition"; it states "The work of Dr. Garrod supplies a want that has long been felt on this side of the Atlantic. It gives succinct but accurate account of natural history, of the physical and chemical properties of the Materia Medica, and the adulterations to which they are frequently subjected;" and much more dated February 25, 1865.
