London: Lawrence and Bullen, 1893. First edition of the second series (hardback). 8vo (27cm by 20cm), xvi, 232pp. 13 etched plates, numerous text illustrations. Publisher's binding of light brown cloth, gilt titling to the spine, gilt design to the front board. Boards rubbed and spotted, repaired split to the top part of the lower joint, endpapers foxed, small bookplate to the front free endpaper, gift inscription, contents clean and tightly bound. Only a good minus copy overall, but the interior is somewhat better than the exterior. This is the limited edition of 120 copies (of which this is copy number 40), printed on fine paper, and with 4 additional plates (the trade edition only had 9 etchings).
