About This Item

THIS BOOK IS: PERFECT "e" ON PG 135. SOILING TO THE FRT COVER,LEAN,SUNNED SPINE MAKING THE TITLE HARD TO READ,OWNERS BOOKPLATE INSIDE COVER,COVERING UP ERASED WRITING,1ST LEAF HAS LIGHT PENCIL ERASURE TOO,MACMILLAN & CO MAIN TITLE PAGE IN RED AND MCMXI IN BLACK,COPYRIGHT PAGE 1911.INSIDE BACK COVER CRACKING,PAGE 10-11 WEAK,RUBBED TOP SPINE,BRUISED BOTTOM SPINE BEGINNING TO FRAY.......EVERYONE AGREES THE LONDON VERSION WAS PRINTED ON THE SAME PRESS WITH THE SAME PLATES AT THE SAME TIME IN AMERICA AS SCRIBNER'S. THEN HOW COME A 2ND ISSUE AMERICA IS THE SAME AS A 1ST ISSUE LONDON. I HAVE READ ABOUT THE PG 135 ERROR FROM TWO SOURCES "JACOB BLANCK" PG-518. TOTAL OF 6000 1ST RUN,1ST 2500 GILTED TOPS,3500 UNGILDED,EARLIEST HAVE perfect type LAST LINE P.135- "WHITMAN BENNETT" PG-206. FIRST STATE SHEETS HAVE PERFECT TYPE ON THE LAST LINE PG 135. THE FIRST THOUSAND COPIES ONLY HAVE GILT TOPS..SO LETS SEE IF I HAVE THIS CORRECT. 1ST THE 2 SOURCES DON'T AGREE ON THE NUMBER IN THE RUN TO BEGIN WITH, THE TRUE 1ST IS THE GILTED TOP. 2ND STATE IS PERFECT TYPE(BUT NO GILT). 3RD STATE IS A MESSED UP "e". 4TH STATE IS A PERFECT "E" AGAIN, SO THE ENGLISH 1ST IS REALLY A 3RD STATE INSTEAD OF A 2ND STATE us..INSTEAD OF RUNNING A FEW THOUSAND AND SETTING UP THE MAIN PLATE FOR MACMILLAN AND ITS ADVERTISING.......MOST SENSIBLE IS THAT SOMEONE GOT THE MESSAGE WRONG ON THE TELEGRAPH/OR IN A LETTER...SO THE ENGLAND ISSUE FOR MACMILLAN IS A LATER NOT A SAME TIME RELEASE AS ADVERTISED? SO YOU PICK WHAT THIS IS 1ST-2ND-3RD-4TH DEPENDING ON HOW MANY TIMES THEY CHANGED PLATES ON THE 1ST RUNNING OF THE PRESSES.

Included is a copy of the Dramatization by Owen & Donald Davis, this copy copyrighted 1935, 1954(revised) 1961,1963,1982. Dramatists Play Service, Inc.

About Pulitzer Prize Books.com

I am a private collector, mainly Pulitzer Prize winners, but I inherited 1000's of hardcovers and looking to sell them off. I will be relocating in the near future, and need to lighten the load.
