First published in 1922, this is a bright edition of Christopher Hussey's study of Eton College. In a smart half calf binding, and with the latter half of the work dedicated to numerous photographic plates of the schoolhouse and its surroundings.Hussey was one of the chief authorities on British domestic architecture of his generation, and produced a series of monographs on selected houses and educational institutions, drawn from collected material from his frequent contributions to Country Life, where he was architectural editor.Contemporary inscription to front pastedown, dated 'Eton, July 1934'. In a half calf binding, with cloth covered boards. Light fading to back strip, with rubbing to back strip head and tail and board perimeters. Contemporary inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally clean and bright, with instances of light spotting. Very Good
