Particular chapters of the book deal with the national experiences in Turkey, Austria, Spain, Greece, while in other chapters the aim is to identify the dilemmas and the new directions sought in banking history in France and Switzerland. The third part of the book, examines certain special issues in bank history of particular importance, such as the local banks in France, the history of the Bank for International Settlements and the literature for banking archives.
