¶ Mystical Fantasy novel, a sort-of sequel to THE EDUCATION OF UNCLE PAUL [1909] and A PRISONER IN FAIRYLAND [1913]. These three titles form a sort of trilogy of 'children's books for adults'; the idea being that children have a mystical closeness to Reality that is no longer present in most adults. The "story" - for there is no real plot in these books in the usual sense of the word - herein is that three children and their Uncle Felix experience a transcendence of the events of everyday life and nature. They perceive the inner poetic essences of life - all of which occurs on "the extra day", a "time" outside of time when all the clocks have stopped.

Synopsis
Judy, Tim, and Maria were just little children. It was impossible to say exactly what their ages were, except that they were just the usual age, that Judy was the eldest, Maria the youngest, and that Tim, accordingly, came in between the two.
