The first edition of this work. A novel by Richard Woodman, first in a a series of fourteen following the career of Nathaniel Drinkwater, officer in the British Royal Navy during the Napoleonic Wars. Drawn on the author's own experiences afloat. In the present volume, Captain Drinkwater starts his life at sea with the HMS Cyclops' capture of the Santa Teresa during the Moonlight Battle of 1780. Signed by Woodman to the title page. Complete with its unclipped dust wrapper. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally excellent with minor shelf wear, little bumped to the head and tail of the spine. Signed by the author to the title page. The dust wrapper is unclipped and very with minor shelf wear only, sunned to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Near Fine
