About This Item

New York: Arco Pub. Very Good. 1984. Hardcover. 0668060719 . Modern Fighting Aircraft Series; Vol. 7; Color & B/W pictures; 14.6 X 10.4 X 0.5 inches; 64 pages; Hard cover has a tan spine with black lettering. Light rubbing, scuffing, bumping and shelf wear to boards. 64 pages of pretty much everything you ever wanted to know about the F/A 18 Hornet. The McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet is a twin-engine, supersonic, all-weather, carrier-capable, multirole combat jet, designed as both a fighter and attack aircraft (hence the F/A designation). Designed by McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) and Northrop, the F/A-18 was derived from the latter's YF-17 in the 1970s for use by the United States Navy and Marine Corps. The Hornet is also used by the air forces of several other nations, and since 1986, by the U. S. Navy's Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels. Extensively illustrated with color and b/w photographs and drawings and specs. This is volume 7 in the series Modern Fighting Aircraft. .
