Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Overall a good condition item. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning. Unclipped jacket is in two parts and has moderate edgewear with chips, tears, and creasing. Light tanning to spine and edges. Water staining to spine and rear panel.

Hardcover edition complete with dust jacket. The latter is generally good although price clipped inside top front. Also evidence of tape repair at front. Book itself good although there is some spotting or foxing to page edges. Published 1952 by Batsford. First edition. Book currently enclosed in transparent sleeve for extra protection.

It covers the coast, rivers, general landscape, castles, villages and towns, universities and town and country houses. Foxing to the end pages and the edges of the text block, fading to the back strip where the dust jacket is missing, the rear end pages gluing has come undone exposing the binding beneath. The dust jacket is now in its component parts, missing the top quarter and bottom quarter of the back strip section, and having large tears at the fold overs.
