London, Rider and Company, 1948 1st edition. Hardback, approx 9.5 x 6 inches. Black cloth with gilt lettering to spine. In illustrated dustwrapper. In very good condition with good dustwrapper (DW Edges rubbed and chipped, loss to bottom edge on rear end ends of spine, tape repairs to spine and flap hinges. NOT price clipped.) Crack to cloth on rear hinge, and partial crack to bottom front corner. Small chips to top end of spine. No penned inscriptions, some neatly pencilled notes to rear endpaper. Repair to rear hinge between endpapers. Some minor tanning to pages, one minor mark to outer page edge, else pages clean and tight. Else a very good clean and tight copy. Please note: This volume has come from a smokers library so does suffer slightly from this. This volume particularly being quite scented. 374pp. Illustrated with 12 B&W plates.
