Illustrations include an old engraving of a ship for an ancient map made by a Benedictine monk about 1740, a portrait of Junipero, the old mill built by Indians at San Antonio, the Santa Ynez Mission, the San Antonio Mission, the San Gabriel Mission, an Indian booth at Pachunga in which Mass was celebrated, the San Carlos Mission, some of the windows at San Carlos, an interior view of San Carlos showing original spring of roof and curve of walls, etc., etc. These pieces would be reprinted in facsimile in 1966.
