About the book: Vintage movie tie-in paperback...

What a brilliant film that will haunt me for years. The story centers around Tevye, a poor Jewish milkman in Ukraine during the time of the Czars. He is a man with five daughters who loves his traditions but these are changing times. His daughters choose their own husband's much to his dismay but he also wishes his daughters happiness. The Jews have such a rich heritage. It's a shame that that they have been persecuted for so many years.
