Octavo, frontispiece, [vi], 194, pp., advertisements. a little gentle spotting of the edges, old ownership inscription to front endpaper, a near fine copy in original cloth with good dust jacket (a bit chipped and water-stained). Part of the In the Air with Andy Lane series of juvenile novels where Andy refuels his ship in the air and sets a world's endurance record. The author is stated on the dust jacket to have enlisted in the Lafayette Escadrille after his second trip to France as an ambulance driver. In Friends of France, The Field Service of the American Ambulance Described by its Member, Eustace L. Adams is listing as entering the Ambulance Service in February 1915 and leaving the Service in June 1915 service in Col. T.C. Sec. 3 with an address in Newtonville, Massachusetts.
