A scientific study of finches, taking account of their status and history, distribution, habitats, populations, breeding, feeding, flocking, roosting & nesting. Readily accessible to the lay reader. Coloured plates painted especially for this edition by Hermann Heinzel. Minor tape mark to front board. Text block lightly browned. Small name in ink to top of front endpaper. Endpapers lightly browned, lightly foxed and minor dampstain to top edge of front pastedown. Contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper has glue mark to horizontal edges where publisher's mylar has been glued on.
