London: Putnam. Good in Fair dust jacket. 1955. First Edition. Hardcover. No signatures. Quite heavy foxing to page edges. A large 6" tear across front panel of dust wrapper. 1" missing at head of dust wrapper spine. Dust wrapper protected in archival mylar cover. ; (224) pages + plates. Blue boards with gilt lettering on spine. Page dimensions: 196 x 128mm. Loosely included with this book is an original photographic print of Roger Bannister. The photo measures 154 x 97mm, and shows Bannister running in a similar posture to the illustration on the front panel of the book, but in the opposite direction. The photograph has some foxing marks on the reverse side. ; 8vo .
