About This Item
New York, New York, USA: Holt Rinehart & Winston, 1977. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 4to - over 9. Holt Rinehart & Winston, 1977. Large Hardcover Book in Near Fine Condition with a Very Good Dust Jacket. More than 250 really extraordinary illustrations, many in full color, and many illustrating the earlier history of fishing that are remarkable. This is a brilliant interweaving of three fascinating stories: How North America's game fish have survived the impact of our expanding civilization in their environment; How anglers' techniques have altered and advanced as fish species and their changing habitats have become better understood; and how tackle has brought sportsmanship to its present state of perfection. A fascinating book--even for a non-fisherman! Very clean green full cloth binding with gilt titles on spine and blind-stamped titlle in bold lettering on front; lower corner is gently bumped. Sewn binding is tight, solid and square, with sharp corners, except for the bumped one! Pages 49-53 leaf is loose from binding. Page block edges very clean. Bright blue endpapers. Internals are very clean, completely unmarked, no creasing. Jacket is unclipped, quite clean, no markings, moderate wear to spine head and heel, closed one inch tear to rear upper edge, slight edgewear otherwise. 251 pages with Index. 11.25 x 9 inches. 1977, Holt Rinehart & Winston, New York, New York, USA
