The cover and full page color illustrations throughout the book are by Leonard Baskin. Leonard Baskin (1922 -2000,) the son - and brother - of a rabbi, was an American artist, sculptor, printmaker and illustrator. In 1942, while still a student at Yale University, he founded Gehenna Press, one of the first fine art presses in the United States. His works appear in museum collections throughout the world.
