Starting off as Fleet Street journalist, in the Second World War the author became famous as one of the legendary fighter aces leading the top-scoring 249 Squadron during the Battle of Malta, later being variously decorated. After the war he entered politics, then business as Managing Director of the Greyhound Racing Association. His long association and prowess at golf - Captain of the 1949 British Walker Cup Team adds to his varied careers. Filled with stories of each of his 'lives', it makes a fascinating autobiography. 13. First Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
