Some shelfwear, back cover of v.2 discolored, spine ends rubbed, corners bumped, 6 inch tear to fold-out map in v.1, but still a very good clean & tight, handsomely produced set. 2vs., size: 10"x13", 716pp., profusely illustrated "mainly from photographs and authentic sketches taken in South Africa", fold-out map at beginning of both volumes, Red leather spine over light red cloth with extensive gilt decorations, bound by Birdsall & Son, Northampton. This is the 1900 printing.
