About This Item

Bangor, Maine: Bangor Daily News, 1976. Second Edition . Hardcover. VG. With over 100 Additional Recipes. xii, 165 pp. Spiral Bound. The Second edition, as scarce as the first in my experience, includes a title page, which the first did not. Inscribed by Brownie. Brownie Schrumpf wrote a cooking column, with recipes, for the Bangor Daily News from 1951 until 1994 when she was 91. A classic of authentic Maine cooking. A few vestiges of printer ink on the front cover, a little soiling on back cover else VG. A bright, clean copy of a book usually found with cookings stains or other signs of heavy use.

We invite you to browse through the approximately 1800 books we have listed online on a wide variety of subjects, including strong holdings in Maine history and literature, lumbering, the North Woods of Maine, and Eastern Woodland Indians. We've been in business since 1975, over 25 years with a general antiquarian bookshop in Bangor. We are open by appointment; most of our stock of over 20,000 old and rare books have never been listed online, including a large selection of books on Maine and the Maine Woods. We are regularly adding to our inventory with new acquisitions.
